Sea Change, the first part of a trilogy for children, was published by
Solidus Press in 2002, and reprinted in 2004.
Sea Change concerns the adventures of Oriana Belle Tavey, who at fourteen, runs away to sea disguised as a boy. The year is 1718, and in the harsh C18th worlds of seafaring, piracy and the slave trade, Belle painfully sheds her naivety and learns courage and resilience and some unexpected answers to the mystery of her family.
Sea Change is written for bold readers aged ten upwards and will appeal to anyone who enjoys adventure stories.
Shadow Dance, part two of the trilogy, continues Belles story in the savage world of slavery. It will be available in 2010 from
Solidus Press.
Julie-ann is currently working on her first adult novel.
Short fiction
Julie-anns short story The Perfect Fit was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in July 2007. She was long-listed for the Asham Prize in 2006.
